Equipping kids for real life means helping them see God:
Monday, December 7th, 2009
Dear Parents,
The Christian life is not easy – it’s a spiritual battle. Making a commitment to Christ is the beginning of a life as a spiritual warrior. Sometimes, Christians try to live as though their faith and life are separate. At Camp Cedar Cliff, we equip your children to integrate their faith and their daily life, to recognize that faith in their loving Heavenly Father is what equips them for all of life’s battles ahead.
Equipping kids for real life means helping them see God in all of their circumstances, and helping them seek God in every situation. We use every opportunity at Camp Cedar Cliff to show kids how physical challenges like rock climbing or a ropes course are analogous to spiritual challenges we face. Just as we equip campers with tools for the climb, we equip kids with spiritual tools for living, too. Our campers spend time daily in God’s Word, learning how to seek Him and hear His voice and sense His direction. They spend time in prayer, learning to bring their concerns and hopes and joys to their loving Heavenly Father. They spend time worshiping Him–alone in His Creation and together with others–and talking about who He is, learning more about Him.
Every counselor and staff person is a committed follower of Jesus Christ with a passion to help your children grow and thrive. We love your kids! Our deepest desire is to see them enter into a life-changing relationship with God and grow into mighty spiritual warriors for Christ. In one week of camp, many kids build a foundation of faith and make spiritual choices that will direct the rest of their lives.
The awesome bonus is that, at Camp Cedar Cliff, all of this comes in the context of amazing summer fun and adventure in God’s awesome creation! We have a LOT of fun and we also take seriously the responsibility God has entrusted to us in your kids.
Praying with you for your kids!
